Living
is a form
of not being
sure,
of not knowing
what next or how.
The artist never
entirely knows.
She/He guesses.
And,
may be
wrong.
One leaps
in the dark.
Agnes deMille’s thoughts
suggest
that we think
about ourselves
as “artists,”
creating our lives,
not being
afraid
to take risks.
We may not be
painters
or poets
or dancers,
but we are the
authors-creators-
of our own lives.
Leaps in the dark-
risks-
must sometimes
be taken.
