For a long time
multi-tasking
has been a badge
of accomplishment.
Nobody feels
in control
all the time.
There is too much
to do
and no one
goes to bed
giving thanks that
he or she
has finished
the day’s
to-do list.
When I feel
overwhelmed,
I try
to ask myself,
what one or two things
could make me
feel better
if done.
Often
they are
small chores
that have been
nagging at me.
Many of us live
with too long
to-do lists
and the tasks
have a way
of increasing
when we
aren’t paying
attention.
Being mindful,
try
figuring out
what is
making
you feel
like
you can’t catch
your breath.
Try
setting
a limit
and sticking to it.
