The accordion of generations unfolds,

incorporating genes and behaviors that have developed over

time and lifetimes.

Some work for the next generation,

but others need to be revised,

so that talents, personalities and selves

can be preserved and thrive.

Such change and preservation

must be approached

with love, respect and patience.

Being human, we are reflections of our genes, our upbringing, our relationships, our social groups and our country. These inheritances don’t mean that we can’t adapt and change, but the process requires love, respect and patience with the generation that preceded us as much as for ourselves.
